Riverside's Lawyer & Judge Guide
This thread will cover the introduction to providing legal advice to your client, and how to be a judge properly.

Introduction to the role of a Lawyer
Being a lawyer is quite a simple process, you would be requested to a certain location to provide advice to your client who is in police custody. Once requested, it is common for you to be searched, so make sure you do not have any items that will be confiscated and could lead to you being arrested. As a lawyer, you should at some point:
  • Know why your client is being arrested/questioned;
  • Have time to speak to your client, with the presence of nobody;
  • Make the decision if you would like to go to court, to fight for your client or to proceed to being jailed.
Each civilian being arrested has the right to request a legal representative, and if you are informed that your client is not being provided one, you can make a report about the officer to the appropriate government official, this being:
  • Any higher-up that is relevant to the department of the officer you are reporting;
  • Any PSD Officer (if the member you're reporting is a higher-up).
When you are a lawyer, you would be escorted to either of the following areas:

You must ensure that as a Lawyer you try to remain professional in court, otherwise the Judge has the power to dismiss the case if the type of behaviour continues. To have the appropriate documentation suitable to be a Lawyer, you must actually be on the job. You can go on the job with the command:
I would advise you to switch on the Lawyer job when the following advert, or anything similar is sent in chat:
Lawyer needed at _______ | 5 minutes..

Introduction to the role of a Judge
Being a Judge can sometimes be an advanced process, with having to deal with many cases, statements, evidence etc. However this is the role whether you can go 2 different ways to approach a case. However, my advice generally for being a Judge is:
  • Listen to both sides, from the defence and the prosecutor;
  • Make a judgement based on the evidence, statements provided and any sort of justification for the crime;
  • Always show that you're the person in charge, never let someone make decisions for you.
As a Judge, you would have the power for pretty much anything to occur within the Courtroom, following the server rules of course. You would generally have the power to:
  • Order a case as guilty or not guilty;
  • Change the sentences of a crime, if they are found guilty;
  • Force anyone to leave the courtroom if necessary.
Just remember, that as a Judge, it does not make you exempt from any law.

When you are a Judge, you would have access to the following areas, in certain circumstances it may change.

It is now your time to choose how you would act as a Judge.

Act 1 - Law Abiding
If you choose this, you would be fair upon both sides, and make an appropriate decision for the defence.

Act 2 - Corrupt Judge
If you choose this, you would be bribed to find the defence not-guilty, or to reduce their time in jail. I would advise that if you do take this route, you do not make it extremely obvious and try and disguise this act, otherwise you could be sentenced to jail.

You can go on the job with the command:
I would advise you to switch on the Lawyer job when the following advert, or anything similar is sent in chat:
Judge needed at _______ | 5 minutes..
Good luck!
