Hello all,

Once again, a small idea for the server in relation to RP and bringing a use to the needing of a license etc.

The Idea in general:
So the idea is to have to get the license as you do now by doing a test, from there, have more speed cameras located around the map (probably best on new map update) however once someone goes through the camera at a speed over a set amount (eg - 30MPH speed limit - limit for camera at 30MPH + 10% (3MPH) + additional 2MPH so a limit for the camera at 35MPH) which it then would give a FPN (Fixed Penalty Notice) which would automatically give 3 points on the license, once you hit 12, the license is removed and you must do the test again to regain the license.
If the speed exceeds twice the limit to give a more considerable charge of 6 - 9 points to add a realistic stance on the situation.

A message to display in chat or on their screen notifying of the points gained and a way to check current points such as !viewpoints for individual (citizen) and police on the CAD system.

Optional extras or related ideas:
Ability for PD to give out points on a license from a set rank of SGT or potentially police staff such as dispatcher or receptionist (if they return) - bringing use to those jobs also. This rank and above to stop abuse.
Points to not be given to emergency services by using a check to ensure they are on a Police or NHS related job to stop them receiving points.
Potential for this to only work in your own vehicle for realism of prosecution of these situations, rather than someone stealing a car and purposely getting their license removed etc.
The points gained could be only counted per restart to show the decrease in points over time.

Pros:
Adds more roleplay around a basic traffic stop.
Brings more use to the licenses.
May bring more people to drive slower at cameras.
Could be linked to the CAD system in future or any form of new tablet that may be released to display points or give out points.

Cons:
Would require a new system implementing and making.
People may switch jobs to PD and no longer have their license - self inflicted but is needed to be in PD.
Could become irritating for people.
Issues relating to NCA undercover.

Side note:
In advance as usual, I am aware this is not a "serious RP server" however it adds some new punishments to the server/PD.

Happy to answer questions individuals may have but please do not put pointless replies or comments that are not needed.

Many thanks,

i like the idea of pd being able to give out points but getting points from speed cameras would be very irritating as people would rack up 12 points very fast which many players would dislike if they had to keep redoing a test multiple times a day.

Hi Liam,

Would they need to do the test multiple times a day? I would say only criminals or people who speed would which realistically if they are committing offences anyway, does it make a difference to their life? It would really only become a pain for someone really who wanted to change to a government job after being a criminal all day.

Many thanks,

To be honest, if this were to be a thing the points on the licence should only stay on the job that you got the points on meaning when you go on a government job you don't have to deal with the pain of potentially retaking the driver's test again.
