Section A: Applicants background
1.1: What is your in-game name? Spacey
1.2 How old are you? 14.
1.3 Do you have a working microphone? Yes.
1.4 How long have you been playing Riverside? 2 years.
1.5 Are you fluent in English? Yes, also fluent in Polish and a bit of Russian.
1.6 What is your SteamID? STEAM_1:0:431471716
1.7 What is your Discord? teasippingbrit
1.8 References (if any)? John Fries, Bonquiqui Jamenson, Badger, Reaper
Section B: Definitions and critical thinking:
2.1: Define RDM and provide two examples: RDM refers to the act of killing other players without any valid in-character reason or roleplay justification.
For example:
John shoots and kills Jack for no apparent reason while they are both in the PD.
Mary runs up to a random player and stabs them with a knife without any prior roleplay.
2.2: Define NLR and provide two examples: NLR is a rule that restricts players from returning and reengaging in roleplay based on knowledge gained from their previous life(s) roleplay after respawning. This rule helps maintain realism in the roleplay after death.
For example:
After respawning, John returns to where he was killed earlier in the roleplay during a mugging and proceeds to kill the same individuals.
Jack immediately recognizes and seeks revenge on Mary, who had stolen his car, and shot him dead when he tried to stop her in his previous life.
2.3: Define FearRP and provide two examples: FearRP is a roleplay rule that requires players to realistically roleplay fear for their life when faced with dangerous situations.
For example:
John, despite having a gun, surrenders and complies with Jack's demands of £3000 when Jack and his friend both point a gun at him.
Mary hesitates to engage in combat when outnumbered and unarmed, showing fear for her safety, which shows the realism of “fearing for your life.”
2.4: What is homophobia and provide two examples: Homophobia is a term used to describe prejudice or otherwise discrimination against a certain group of individuals over their sexuality. (e.g Gay or Bisexual).
For example:
John gives Mary a lower salary in his gunshop than Sarah due to Mary roleplaying as a character who is gay.
John commits a hit and run on Jack because his RP name is “Gay Jack.”
2.5 What is racism and provide two examples: Racism is the belief in the inferior race of individuals based on their race, leading to discrimination, bias, and prejudice.
Examples include:
John refuses to sit next to a person of a different race on the bus.
Mary consistently does not give bonuses to Jack because of his skin colour, while all the other people get a bonus pay in the gun shop.
2.6: William has adverted carjack and stolen an NHS members vehicle. Joe reports him for failing to advert carjack. What steps will you take to resolve this sit? I would first bring Joe to a sit and ask him for his side of the story. After he explains that William did not advert carjack, I would check advert logs to see if he did or not. After seeing that he did, I would inform Joe that he did advert carjack. If Joe also reports him for carjacking a NHS vehicle, I would then bring William to a sit and ask for his side of the story. I would then ask Joe for a clip of him stealing the NHS vehicle. If there is sufficient evidence, I would inform Joe that Crimes against NHS is not allowed on the server. I would then check his warn history, and if he has been warned for it in the past, he would be issued a warning for crimes against NHS. If he seems genuinely apologetic, or he seems to suggest that he did not know about the rule, I would give him a second chance because of the benefit of the doubt and ask him to read the rules with !motd. I would then return both players to their original locations, or a suitable location such as spawn.
2.7: Joe has reported William for shooting at him for no reason. William states that he was not shooting for no reason, he adverted PD raid. William has killed six people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit? Assuming that both players have been already brought to a sit, I would check if he had indeed adverted PD raid. If not, then I would check his past warnings for FTA, and if he has minimal warnings, or seems genuinely apologetic, I would tell him to advert next time and to read up on the rules with !motd. Moving on to the damage caused, to speed the process up I would first ask for a clip. If the clip shows clearly that he did advert PD raid, and that he shot them because of the PD raid, and that it was not RDM, then both players would be returned. If the clip does not show it clearly, I would compare the timings between Joe’s advert and damage logs. If they line up, and the clip shows that he retaliated in self defence/due to the pd raid, they would both be returned. If, however it shows that William had committed RDM on six people, he would be banned for MRDM. I would then return Joe to his original location, or a suitable one like spawn.
2.8: Joe (Drug dealer) has built a base on the sidewalk. William raids Joes base with no advert. Joe kills William. William gets a new gun and drives straight back and kills Joe and sells all his drugs. What steps will you take to resolve this sit? I would deal with this situation step by step. If I can either see/I was provided evidence of Joe building on the sidewalk, I would either warn him or give him the benefit of the doubt, asking him to read the rules with !motd, depending on his past infringements/general attitude to the situation. I would then deal with William’s FTA. I would ask for evidence to be provided by Joe, and if none is provided, I would check advert logs and damage logs, to see if Joe’s killing lined up with any “raid” advert posted by William. If there is no advert, I would either warn him or give him the benefit of the doubt, asking him to read the rules with !motd, depending on his past infringements/general attitude to the situation. If there is, and damage logs line up with the advert, I would inform them both that the raid was not false, and he did advert. I would then ask for their sides of the story on the next infringement, the NLR. I would ask anyone for evidence of William breaking NLR, and if none is provided, I would check damage logs to see if William kills Joe while under NLR cooldown. Now, if NLR is confirmed, I would either warn him or give him the benefit of the doubt, asking him to read the rules with !motd, depending on his past infringements/general attitude to the situation. If not, I would inform them both that William did in fact wait out the NLR cooldown/did not reengage in RP after his death. I would then return them both to their original location, or a suitable one like spawn.
2.9: William as a Commander in the Police is hosting a meeting he adverts “Pd meeting | Starting 5m | Important topics | No major crimes” Joe as a Jihad adverts bombing and ends up killing 10 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit? I would first bring them both to a sit, and ask for Joe’s, then William’s side of the story. If William did in fact advert “Pd meeting…,” with evidence either from a screenshot, clip, or logs, then I would check if Joe’s “bombing” advert is after of before William’s advert, again by checking a screenshot, clip, or logs. If Joe adverts “bombing” before William’s advert, then I would close the sit, return them both to their original location, or a suitable one like spawn. If Joe adverts “bombing” after William’s advert, and depending on the proximity of the difference of time between both adverts, I would check damage logs to confirm the death toll, and ban Joe for MRDM. If there was a very close proximity of time in between both adverts, I would inform Joe that he is going to be let off with a verbal warning, and to allow a bit of leeway in between all adverts to make sure this does not happen again. I would then return them both to their original location, or a suitable one like spawn.
Section C: Questions
3.1: Why should we choose you over other applicants? You should choose me over other applicants because I am dedicated to maintaining a positive and immersive roleplay experience. I possess effective communication skills, am committed to helping players, and have a solid understanding of the server's rules. I am active, polite, and just in all situations. I am also CMDR, DO and Dispatch Manager in PD, with involvement in NHS, RS, NCA and formerly SCO (Resignation). I feel that this proves my maturity to be able to hold a high rank such as CMDR, and also shows my activity due to my participation in all departments.
3.2: If you were in a situation you did not know how to handle what would you do? If I encounter a situation in which I am unsure how to handle, I would check the server's rules, and any available resources such as handbooks. If needed, I would reach out to more experienced staff members for guidance and clarification to make sure I make the correct decision.
3.3: Do you have previous experience staffing servers? No, unfortunately.
3.4: List three strengths that you have that will help you staff: Great communication skills, active and engaged in all situations, great problem solving skills.
3.5: List three weaknesses that may affect you when you’re staff: I might spend too long on a situation just to get the clearest answer possible, I might be over empathetic towards people, meaning I may give out too many second chances, and I may be impatient with constant rule breakers.
3.6: Why do you want to be a staff member? I want to be a staff member because I am genuinely enthusiastic about upholding a fun and positive roleplay experience for all players. I find joy in helping others and ensuring that the server's rules are upheld to maintain a fair roleplay experience, free from minges and trolls alike.
3.7: Do you have any disabilities (or other issues) that may impact your ability as staff? Nope.
Have you received any help when creating this application? Nope.
Do you consent to further fact-checking and background checking? Yes.
Thank you for reading.
