Section A: Applicants background

1.1: What is your in-game name?
Leeroy.
1.2 How old are you? 40.
1.3 Do you have a working microphone? Yes.
1.4 How long have you been playing Riverside? Since relaunch.
1.5 Are you fluent in English? Yes.
1.6 What is your SteamID? STEAM_0:0:229501253.

Section B: Definitions and critical thinking:

2.1: Define RDM and provide two examples:

-Random Death Match, killing someone without a valid roleplay reason. One example is someone saying "move out the way please" and you shoot them down. A second example is someone coming into the PD, killing a Police Officer in the lobby because "he hates the police". Both of which are examples of killing someone without a valid roleplay reason, they did not instigate on you or your party, and no valid /advert reason to kill them was given.

2.2: Define NLR and provide two examples:

-New Life Rule, forgetting all previous encounters within 5 minutes of your death and the situation you died in. One example could be coming back to the PD raid once killed. A second example could be reporting someone to the Police for having printers in their base when you tried raiding it and got killed. Both situations are something of which you shouldn’t return to or have any knowledge of once your new life has commenced.

2.3: Define FearRP and provide two examples:

-FearRP is when you fail to value your life within a roleplay situation, to which you are outnumbered in combat and must comply with the other party. One example of breaking FearRP includes two criminals pointing a gun at a cop telling him to stop and place his hands up. The cop fails to raid his hands and proceeds to pull his weapon out and kill both of the criminals. A second example could be a suspect in a chase, he fails to stop when numerous officers point their gun at him and then proceeds to run away from the Police. Both are examples of failing to value your life.

2.4: What is homophobia and provide two examples:

-Homophobia is having a dislike towards the LGBTQ community and using words to target someone with the intent of causing distress to the other person, or likewise. One example could be calling someone a f**got and that it’s disgusting they like men. A second example could include RDMing someone and when brought to a sit they say “I killed him because he’s gay and I hate all the gay people I think they should die”. Both are examples of having hatred and being discriminative towards the LGBTQ community. Context matters.

2.5 What is racism and provide two examples:

-Racism is having hatred or discrimination towards a community of a certain race. An example could include spamming n**ger in /ooc chat. A second example could include targeting someone and killing them in-game, and when brought to an admin sit you state “I hate Indian people and how they try and steal all of our jobs so I killed him”. Both are examples of racism. Context matters.

Please answer the following questions as if you were a Trial-Mod:

2.6: William has adverted carjack and stolen an NHS members vehicle. Joe reports him for failing to advert carjack. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

-I would first bring both parties to a secluded area able to conduct a sit without any interruption. I would ask the other party for his side in the report and check admin logs to see whether or not he did the advert. However, regardless of the advert or not I would state that you cannot commit a crime against an NHS personnel, nor steal an NHS emergency vehicle. I would then take the necessary steps to handle out a punishment. On the other hand, if Willaim states he did not steal an NHS vehicle, I would check for any evidence in the logs which could prove otherwise and ask Joe for any proof of him stealing the vehicle. Then I would handle out the necessary punishment.

2.7: Joe has reported William for shooting at him for no reason. William states that he was not shooting for no reason, he adverted PD raid. William has killed 6 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

-Firstly, after finding a suitable area to conduct the sit and check both parties story, I would check logs to see if William was in fact doing a PD raid and if the advert was true. I would check who William killed in the situation, expecting it to include Police Officers. I would also check Billy’s Logs, to see where in-fact where Joe was when he was getting shot. If it was in the PD then I would inform Joe there was a PD raid. If it was outside the PD, like on the street and he was getting shot I would handle out the necessary punishment.

2.8: Joe (Drug dealer) has built a base on the sidewalk. William raids Joes base with no advert. Joe kills William. William gets a new gun and drives straight back and kills Joe and sells all his drugs. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

-Firstly, after finding a suitable area to conduct the sit and check both parties story, I would check logs to see that William has raided joe with no advert, and William has came back and killed Joe, breaking NLR and RDM. I would then state that William must give Joe the money or compensation him for stealing all the drugs and selling them. I would also state to Joe that since he is a drug dealer, he is not permitted to build on the sidewalk and that if he wants to, he must be a hobo. Therefore, I would handle out the necessary punishments for both parties.

2.9: William as a Commander in the Police is hosting a meeting he adverts “Pd meeting | Starting 5m | Important topics | No major crimes” Joe as a Jihad adverts bombing and ends up killing 10 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

-After checking if Joe knew about the advert or not, I wouldn’t ban him for MassRDM as he followed the correct procedure for /advert. However, I would handle out the necessary punishment to Joe as he failed to comply with the “no major crimes” advert.

Section C: Questions

3.1: Why should we choose you over other applicants?

-You should choose me over other applicants as I have had a long and extensive staffing history across a range of Garry’s Mod servers, all reaching from Trial-Mod to a trusted member of staff. This is due to my dedication, hard work and love for staffing within Garry’s Mod. I feel as though I am cool-headed, easy to get along with and sensible. I can adapt to certain situations which require thought and experience. I can also be well trusted, able to carry out certain tasks which are needed.

3.2: If you were in a situation you did not know how to handle what would you do?

-I would contact someone else in the “@chat” for help on the situation. Using this, I would listen carefully to what they say so I could handle a similar situation in the future.

3.3: Do you have previous experience staffing servers?

-The servers in which I staffed, and the ranks I held in there will be listed below:

  • SCP-RP Superadmin (2 years)
  • GTM-RP Superadmin (4 months)
  • Dark-RP Superadmin (2 months)
  • KRP Head Admin (1 year)
  • JvS Senior-Moderator (2 months)

43.4: List three strengths that you have that will help you staff:

  • Responsibility: As a staff member, there are a lot of responsibilities that come with it. Being a role model for other players is something that you must not take likely, as when on as staff you represent Riverside as a whole.
  • Attitude: since the day Riverside relaunched, my attitude towards the server and the positions I hold have not been taken lightly. I have made sure that I have shown the best version of myself possible to represent the departments I am in.
  • Reliability: I can be extremely reliable to handle out any task given to me, or that I may encounter whilst on as staff.

3.5: List three weaknesses that may affect you when you’re staff:
  • Patience, sometimes I have the tendency to let people take their time when they aren’t required to do so. This can be inefficient when staffing.
  • Organisation: I usually require things to be organised, if they’re all over the show I tend to have a problem with that.
  • Being too helpful to others: sometimes people need to have the task of dealing with things themselves, which I need to learn to adapt to.
3.6: Why do you want to be a staff member?

-I want to be a staff member because I am going to be dedicating most of my time to the server and I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. I hope to stay along with the journey over the next years the server stays online. Furthermore, I would like to say that being a staff member is something that I thoroughly enjoy and would take with high gratitude when on the server representing the team.

Have you received any help when creating this application? No.
Do you consent to further fact-checking and background checking? Yes.
