Section A: Applicants background

Section B: Definitions and critical thinking:

2.1: Define RDM and provide two examples:

RDM Stands for Random Death Match, this is where someone kills another player for no valid RP reason.

Example 1:
A News reporter posts a story about PCSOs horrible driving. In relatiation, a PCSO runs up to the reporter and starts stabbing them. This is both RDM and would need to be reported to PSD.

Example 2:
A member of the London Mafia starts shouting at Terrorists, the Terrorists then begin shooting at them for what was said. Due to there not being a valid roleplay reason for the shooting, it would be classed as RDM.

2.2: Define NLR and provide two examples:

NLR Stands for new life rule, this is where someone kills you so you are meant to forget everything and not return to the same area or interact with anything from your old life for 5 minutes.

Example 1:
London Mafia adverts a raid on PD and run in starting to kill officers. One of the LM dies and decides to return again after 3 minutes, this is in clear violation of the NLR rules.

Example 2:
2 criminals are caught printing money by an officer, they quickly kill the officer so no one finds out. Upon respawn, the officer calls in for back up to the criminals' location and sends everyone there for a raid. This is in violation of the NLR rules as you are meant to forget everything from your past life (within reason).

2.3: Define FearRP and provide two examples:

Fear RP is enacted when you are outnumbered by players who have guns, you have to follow their will as if your life is in their hands.

Example 1:
To criminals point guns at a PCSO on foot patrol and tell him to put his hands up in a bid to attempt to kidnap him. Instead of surrendering, the PCSO turns around and pulls out a taser, then proceeding to tase the 2 criminals. Not only is this a breach of Fear RP, but would also need to be reported to PSD.

Example 2:
PD decide to do a raid against a criminal as there is suspicion of drugs in the house. Once they breach the house, they see the criminal stood without a gun in the hallway. The PD demand that the criminal rases his hands but instead he pulls out a gun and attempts to shoot the cops. This is a breach of Fear RP as he was outgunned and he didn't even have one out beforehand.

2.4: What is homophobia and provide two examples:

Homophobia is prejudice against homosexual people.

Example 1:
PD Decide to host a PD meeting. During the meeting, a PCSO requests a PTS. The officer hosting the meeting then turns around and says "Shut up 'Fa**ot' your not getting a PTS". This would be homophobia due to the use of the slur and the fact he is implying that he isn't getting the PTS as he is homosexual.

Example 2:
A staff member deals with a sit for RDM, and the offending party ends up getting warned. After this, he goes to OOC and keeps calling the staff member homophobic slurs such as the one stated above. This would be homophobia for the same reason.

2.5 What is racism and provide two examples:

Racism is prejudice against a certain race of people.

Example 1:
During a T meeting, the Co-Leader encourages higherups to not promote anyone they know to be black. This is obviously racist and would be dealt with accordingly.

Example 2:
A user keeps rapidly disconnecting and reconnecting with their name as "Ni**er". This is obviously racist and would be dealt with accordingly.

Please answer the following questions as if you were a Trial-Mod:

2.6: William has adverted carjack and stolen an NHS members vehicle. Joe reports him for failing to advert carjack. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?


I would bring the two parties to an excluded location away from any RP. I would then explain to William that it is against the rules to commit crimes against NHS staff (B15) and you're not supposed to steal NHS vehicles (D10) as clearly stated in the rules, and I would warn him for breaking these rules. I would also explain to John that he did advert, but thank him for making the sit and ensure both parties are happy to call for help in the future.

2.7: Joe has reported William for shooting at him for no reason. William states that he was not shooting for no reason, he adverted PD raid. William has killed 6 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

I would bring the two parties to an excluded location away from any RP. I would then ask where Joe had been killed. After ensuring that John had been killed near or in PD, that William had not committed NLR, the raid was still ongoing and checking in chat to make sure he adverted; I would explain to Joe he was doing a raid and he was allowed to kill him, otherwise, I would warn William for any offence he committed. I would then thank Joe for making the sit and ensure both parties are happy to call for help in the future.

2.8: Joe (Drug dealer) has built a base on the sidewalk. William raids Joes base with no advert. Joe kills William. William gets a new gun and drives straight back and kills Joe and sells all his drugs. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

I would bring the two parties to an excluded location away from any RP. Then, I would explain to Joe that he isn't allowed to build on the sidewalk (Unless he is a hobo) and give him a verbal warning for doing so. I would then warn William for FTA and NLR and explain both of the rules fully so he understands why he was warned. I don't think there is much I could do about the lost funds, although if he had fully run out of money I would offer some of my own cash to help him get back on his feet. I would then thank them for making the sit and ensure both parties are happy to call for help in the future.

2.9: William as a Commander in the Police is hosting a meeting he adverts “Pd meeting | Starting 5m | Important topics | No major crimes” Joe as a Jihad adverts bombing and ends up killing 10 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

I would bring the two parties to an excluded location away from any RP. Then, I would ask if he was aware of the Advert. If he knows that the advert was there and he chose to do the bombing then I would ban him for mass RDM. If he was not aware of the advert, I would give him a warning, but ensure all staff know that he did it and if he does it again to ban him. After doing so, I would explain to William what has happened and make sure he is happy with the punishments handed out.

Section C: Questions

3.1: Why should we choose you over other applicants?


Over the years in GMOD, I have acquired relevant skills and experience, which I want to bring to the server. I have also worked on my communication abilities and teamwork skills, which I could use a lot in my position as staff. I have given my 100% effort in my past servers, and this has enabled me to recognize my capabilities and limitations. As I am on this server, I hope to continue to further my skills which I could apply to the staff team and my HoD position.

3.2: If you were in a situation you did not know how to handle what would you do?

My first step would be to contact someone (regardless of rank) and ask them for help if I know they are experienced. If there is no one available to help, I would double-check the rules then do what I deemed most fit at the moment and contact a Higher-Up later on and ask for advice for future reference.

3.3: Do you have previous experience staffing servers?

I have minimal past staffing experience, however, I can learn quickly and pick up new stuff along the way if I were to get selected.

3.4: List three strengths that you have that will help you staff:

Teamwork- I am good at working in a team. This is important as in Staff we need to keep a close community and help each other out, I feel like I can do this openly and freely, giving and taking advice in a healthy way. As well as this, it allows me to work with people in-game to resolve any issues that may arise.

Communication - Having good communication is very helpful in being on a staff team. It helps with discussing items within the team, relaying information/ideas, communicating problems and ideas for fixes.

Dedication - I have the ability to truly and completely dedicate myself to a role. I am someone who will not stop trying until I achieve my goal when I really set my mind to it. In the case of Riverside, this means that if someone needs help that I am for some reason not immediately able to provide I will genuinely try my hardest to make sure that I am able to help by dedicating myself to the task at hand. However, if I am not able to provide the help, I am not afraid to ask fellow staff members or members from the community in general for help as the important thing is that help is delivered, not who delivers it.

3.5: List three weaknesses that may affect you when you’re staff:

Spontaneity
- I work best when organised, and if something comes up out of the blue I find it quite hard to deal with.

Procrastination - I often procrastinate on tasks I am supposed to be doing.

Spelling - Most of the time I am fine, but I would just flop on random words and spell them wrong. I would still be able to be understood but still looks unprofessional occasionally.

3.6: Why do you want to be a staff member?

Lots of people give long answers here but I don't want to overcomplicate it. I want to help the server. Plain and simple, I just want to help out and give back to the community.

You have put some detail within your answers, however you could put more detail within other answers within Section C, as well as you have missed a question.
