Section B: Definitions and critical thinking:

2.1: Define RDM and provide two examples:

RDM is random deathmatch, which is basically killing someone for no in game reason. an example would be simply going up to someone and shooting them to death another would be randomly stabbing someone for no reason.

2.2: Define NLR and provide two examples:
NLR is new life rule which means that after you die you aren't supposed to remember the last 5 minutes up until you die. An example of breaching NLR would be to respawn after getting killed by someone and then going back to that person to arrest them for murder straight away. Another example would be if you got kidnapped by someone then killed by them, and then respawning to go to the police to immediately report them for kidnapping & murder.

2.3: Define FearRP and provide two examples:

EX1: John is driving from the police and then he hits a wall and his car exploded. 5 Armed cops gets out and starts aiming at John and tells him to put his hands up. John decides to continue running and ignore the cops aiming at him.

EX2: Not John gets kidnapped by some RS members. The RS Members has guns and is aiming at Not John. Not John decides to not comply and try to resist.

2.4: What is homophobia and provide two examples:
Homophobia refers to the disliking/prejudice of gay people

e.g. A Thief kills a Drug Dealer on the basis that the player shared their sexual orientation

e.g. An Commander blacklists another member of PD because they find out the player is gay.

2.5 What is racism and provide two examples:
Racism is prejudice towards a certain race.

Example A: Player A says the N word
Example B: Player A targets Player B because Player B is a certain race.

Please answer the following questions as if you were a Trial-Mod:

2.6: William has adverted carjack and stolen an NHS members vehicle. Joe reports him for failing to advert carjack. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?


I would put William and Joe in a sit to listen to both their views on the situation. I would check logs to see if William had adverted carjack. If he did advert I will only warn William for "Crimes against NHS". If he did not advert I will also have to issue a warning for "FTA". At the end of the sit I would suggest William read the rules again.

2.7: Joe has reported William for shooting at him for no reason. William states that he was not shooting for no reason, he adverted PD raid. William has killed 6 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

I would put William and Joe in a sit to listen to both their views on the situation. I would check logs to see whether William had adverted PD raid, and whether everybody who died was in fact inside the Police Station.
1) If William did advert correctly and Joe was in the Police Station at his time of death I would not issue any warning.
2) If William did not advert I would warn him for "FTA" and also the player would receive a ban for "MRDM"
3 If William did advert correctly but Joe was in fact outside of Police Station at his time of death I would issue William a warning for "RDM"

2.8: Joe (Drug dealer) has built a base on the sidewalk. William raids Joes base with no advert. Joe kills William. William gets a new gun and drives straight back and kills Joe and sells all his drugs. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

I would bring the two parties to an excluded location away from any RP. Then, I would explain to Joe that he isn't allowed to build on the sidewalk (Unless he is a hobo) and give him a verbal warning for doing so. I would then warn William for FTA and NLR and explain both of the rules fully so he understands why he was warned. I don't think there is much I could do about the lost funds, although if he had fully run out of money I would offer some of my own cash to help him get back on his feet. I would then thank them for making the sit and ensure both parties are happy to call for help in the future.

2.9: William as a Commander in the Police is hosting a meeting he adverts “Pd meeting | Starting 5m | Important topics | No major crimes” Joe as a Jihad adverts bombing and ends up killing 10 people. What steps will you take to resolve this sit?

I would bring the two parties to an excluded location away from any RP. Then, I would ask if he was aware of the Advert. If he knows that the advert was there and he chose to do the bombing then I would ban him for mass RDM. If he was not aware of the advert, I would give him a warning, but ensure all staff know that he did it and if he does it again to ban him. After doing so, I would explain to William what has happened and make sure he is happy with the punishments handed out.

Section C: Questions

3.1: Why should we choose you over other applicants?


Over the years in GMOD, I have acquired relevant skills and experience, which I want to bring to the server. I have also worked on my communication abilities and teamwork skills, which I could use a lot in my position as staff. I have given my 100% effort in my past servers, and this has enabled me to recognize my capabilities and limitations. As I am on this server, I hope to continue to further my skills which I could apply to the staff team.

3.2: If you were in a situation you did not know how to handle what would you do?

My first step would be to contact someone (regardless of rank) and ask them for help if I know they are experienced. If there is no one available to help, I would double-check the rules then do what I deemed most fit at the moment and contact a Higher-Up later on and ask for advice for future reference.


3.3: Do you have previous experience staffing servers?
In the past I've had a lot of experience with being staff, I've ran 2 community's back in 2013-2016 BT-Gaming & NAG.
1) BT-Gaming started as a Meth RP server and after a few years it then tried to be a Police RP but failed and soon after that the Server Died. I worked my way from a T-Mod all the way up to the position of Co-Owner which took me around a year and a half of hard work.)
2) NAG was a Star wars the clone wars RP which was around for a few years again back in 2014-2016, the owner was a Close friend of mine from BT-Gaming and had asked me to help Run His staff team as Community manager. )
3) Reality RP/Military RP- I worked my way up from T-mod to Senior Admin during this server but let due to IRL Work.

3.4: List three strengths that you have that will help you staff:

Teamwork
- I am good at working in a team. This is important as in Staff we need to keep a close community and help each other out, I feel like I can do this openly and freely, giving and taking advice in a healthy way. As well as this, it allows me to work with people in-game to resolve any issues that may arise.

Communication - Having good communication is very helpful in being on a staff team. It helps with discussing items within the team, relaying information/ideas, communicating problems and ideas for fixes.

Dedication - I have the ability to truly and completely dedicate myself to a role. I am someone who will not stop trying until I achieve my goal when I really set my mind to it. In the case of Riverside, this means that if someone needs help that I am for some reason not immediately able to provide I will genuinely try my hardest to make sure that I am able to help by dedicating myself to the task at hand. However, if I am not able to provide the help, I am not afraid to ask fellow staff members or members from the community in general for help as the important thing is that help is delivered, not who delivers it.

3.5: List three weaknesses that may affect you when you’re staff:

Work
- at times i have to go away with work which does mean ill have to take LOA at times.

Speaking Fast- I tend to sometimes speed up my voice a bit, so at times some people have to ask me to repeat what ive said.

Impatient- at times when people are trolling on the server i can get a little Impatient with them messing around.

3.6: Why do you want to be a staff member?


A lots of people give long answers here but I don't want to overcomplicate it. I want to help the server. Plain and simple, I just want to help out and give back to the community.

Speedy is a Humble member of Riverside Roleplay, and I think he deserves a chance at being in the staff team, I see him as a great fit for staff; this is for the following reasons:
- He understands the Rules.
- Very Mature.
- Active.
- Detailed Application.
- Great Humour.
- Great fit for staffing.
BUT 2.5 Has been left un-answered.

From the limited time I have spoken to Hyper, He has a superb understanding of the rules and has great potential. The other members of the community have mentioned that you have only made the community a better place. Never had to deal with any sits or issues from you. Overall, I would be shocked if you didn't get accepted.

Although you have missed out on section 2.5.

Overall, I would be shocked if you didn't get accepted.

Where do I begin with Hyper.

He is a positive face on the server.
Never minges, Always dedicated to the character/role he's playing on the server
Mature.
He would be the perfect fit through staff having clear knowledge of the rules.
Great application gone into depth
